Rustic Cage Wood Chandelier for Kitchen Island

A drum-shaped cage chandelier: two wooden hoops held apart by curved black iron straps, with five candle lights clustered at the centre. At 15.7 inches square it is compact, and the adjustable drop reaches 70 inches, so it can hang low over an island or tight to a low ceiling.

Two hoops and the straps between them

The structure here is simple and entirely visible: an upper and a lower wooden hoop, joined by iron straps that bow outward in a shallow curve. Nothing is hidden. That bow is what gives the cage its drum shape rather than a straight cylinder, and it means each strap has to be formed to the same arc so the two hoops stay parallel. The wood is left with its grain showing against the matte black iron.

Compact enough for a low ceiling

Most cage chandeliers are large. At 15.7 inches in both directions this one is genuinely small, which makes it usable in rooms where a full-size fixture would not fit: apartments, low-ceilinged cottages, small dining areas and entryways. The drop adjusts up to 70 inches, so the same piece also works in a stairwell.

Hanging more than one

Because it is small, this design is usually bought in multiples rather than singly. Over an island, space them 75 to 90 cm apart and set them all to the same drop.
