Wooden Emporium is a lighting manufacturer in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh — the town that has been India’s woodcarving centre for generations. We are not a reseller or an importer. Every chandelier, wall sconce, floor lamp and table lamp we sell is cut, carved, forged, assembled and finished by our own craftsmen, in our own workshop, and shipped to you direct.
That matters for two practical reasons. Because we make the piece, we can change it — size, light count, chain drop, wood tone, iron finish. And because nothing passes through a distributor or a showroom, you are paying for the work and the materials rather than for three margins stacked on top of them.
What we make
Handcrafted lighting for homes, villas, hotels, resorts, restaurants, banquet halls, temples and commercial interiors:
- Wrought iron chandeliers — hand-forged, from single-tier to large tiered pieces for double-height spaces
- Wooden chandeliers — hand-carved and lathe-turned, rustic through to formal
- Iron wall sconces and wooden wall lamps — singles and matched sets
- Floor lamps and table lamps
Two materials, worked by hand
Every fixture is built in wood and iron. Glass shades, crystal drops and brass-finished fittings appear where a design calls for them, but the body of the piece — everything that carries load and everything you actually look at — is one or both of those two materials. No resin, no polyresin, no pressed aluminium.
Most of the ironwork is hand-forged. Solid bar is heated and shaped by hand, so the scrolls are bent and the leaves hammered one at a time. Forged iron bends before it breaks, which is what lets a long thin arm survive transport. Where a design needs a detail repeated identically — a run of matched leaf mounts, bobeches or finials — we have those parts cast instead, because that is the right process for a repeated component. Forged and cast parts are assembled and finished together by hand. The wood is seasoned hardwood, carved by hand and turned on a lathe from solid sections rather than glued up from blocks. Hand-cut carving drifts very slightly from turn to turn, and that is exactly why it catches light the way machine-cut work cannot.
Finishes are applied by hand too — antique bronze, matte black, verdigris, gilt, and warm wood tones.
Custom manufacturing
Most of what we build is made to order, so almost anything in the catalogue can be rebuilt to your numbers: diameter, height, arm span, light count, chain drop, wood tone and iron finish. Send us the room dimensions and ceiling height, or a reference photo or drawing, and we will tell you honestly whether we can make it, what it will cost and how long it will take.
We work regularly with architects, interior designers, builders, hotel and hospitality projects and furniture retailers. For multi-unit and project orders, send the quantity, the ceiling heights and the finish you want and we will quote the build.
Technical standards
All fixtures are wired for 220–240V and use E14 candle-base or E27 standard-base lamp holders, so they take bulbs available anywhere in India. We recommend warm white around 2700K — cool white flattens wood grain to grey and makes an antique iron finish look like painted steel.
Large chandeliers are built to fold for transit, so they clear ordinary doorways and stairwells and are opened out and locked into position on site.

Quality and dispatch
Every piece is finished and inspected before it leaves the workshop. Ready designs normally dispatch in 1–2 weeks; custom and bulk orders take 2–4 weeks depending on the design. We ship across India and to selected international destinations, with large pieces crated for transit.
