Haven Shelf Floor Lamp with Storage

A 150 cm floor lamp with two round wooden shelves built into its frame, so the lamp doubles as a side table. The light sits above and the shelves sit below, which means one footprint does the work of two pieces of furniture.

Built for small rooms

This design exists for a specific problem: a sofa corner with room for either a lamp or a side table, but not both. Putting the shelves inside the lamp frame solves it. The upper shelf sits at armrest height for a cup or a phone, the lower one takes books or a basket, and the whole thing occupies a 40 cm circle. In an apartment, a rented flat or a compact living room, that is the difference between a usable corner and a crowded one.

What the shelves will take

These are display and everyday-use shelves, not load-bearing storage. Books, a cup, a plant, a remote, a small speaker are all fine. Do not put heavy items on the upper shelf, as weight high up on a 40 cm base reduces stability. Keep the heavier things on the lower shelf, which also helps the lamp stand steady.

Care

Wipe the powder-coated frame with a barely damp cloth and dry it. Dust the wooden shelves dry; wipe up spills at once rather than letting liquid sit. Brush or vacuum the fabric shade on low suction.
