Victorian Rose Wall Sconce

A rose vine climbing across the wall in dark forged iron, with two candle arms sweeping out to either side and red roses set along the stem. Square at 24 by 24 inches, it reads as wide rather than tall, which makes it a good fit above a headboard or a console.

The vine sets the shape

The two arms on this sconce are not symmetrical decoration added to a backplate. They grow out of the vine itself, curving down and then up in a long S before the candle holders sit on top, and the vine continues upward past them with leaves and roses along it. That means the whole piece is one continuous line of forged iron, which is harder to build than separate arms bolted to a plate, and it is why the sconce looks like it is growing across the wall rather than hanging on it.

Where this sconce works best

• Above a headboard. The wide, square proportion suits the space above a bed.
• Above a console table or sideboard.
• Living room feature walls. Allow at least 30 inches of clear width.
• Hotel rooms and suites. Matched sets are manufactured to order.

Mounting

Because the arms spread the full 24 inches, this sconce needs clear wall on both sides. Do not mount it tight into a corner or beside a door frame, as one arm will be lost. For general wall lighting, mount the centre 165 to 175 cm from the floor.

Handcrafted in our own workshop. Size, arm count, rose colour and finish can all be changed, and pairs are made together so the painted roses match. Bulk and project orders are quoted factory-direct. We ship across India and worldwide.

Care

Dust the ironwork and leaves with a soft brush. The roses are hand-painted, so avoid chemical cleaners and do not scrub the petals.
