Timeless Manor Wall Light

A tall rectangular wall panel in distressed wood with a scrolled iron bracket mounted across it, carrying three candle lights. At 71 cm tall and only 20 cm wide it is a narrow vertical piece, and the panel behind the arms is what makes it read as architecture rather than as a fitting.

A panel, not a backplate

Most sconces mount on a small plate that disappears behind the arms. Here the backing is a full framed panel, tall and slim, finished with a distressed wash and a moulded border. It reads like a piece of panelling with a light fixed to it, which is why this design sits well on a plain wall that has nothing else on it. The iron bracket across the front is scrolled and deliberately dark, so it draws against the pale panel.

Two finishes

This design is made in two finishes: antique white, which is pale and chalky and suits neutral or grey interiors, and antique brown, which is warmer and works against wood panelling and darker walls. Tell us which you want when you order, or ask for a sample photograph of both against your wall colour.

Care

Dust the panel and the carved border with a soft dry brush. Do not use water, polish or wax on the distressed finish, as it will darken the worn areas unevenly and flatten the effect.
