Lunar Curve Wall Light

A single forged arc sweeping up from a flat wall shelf, with three candle arms rising along its curve and three iron spheres hanging below as counterweights. There is no foliage, no scrollwork and no ornament on this piece. It is the one design in this collection that is purely contemporary.

One curve, and nothing to hide behind

The whole sconce is built around a single arc of iron, drawn and bent in one piece. That is the hardest kind of forging to get right, because a curve this clean has nothing distracting the eye: any flat spot, any tightening at the wrong point, and the line reads as wrong immediately. The textured matte black finish is applied over the forge marks rather than smoothing them away, so the surface stays hand-made even though the shape is modern. The three hanging spheres balance the arms visually and give the piece its stillness.

Where this sconce works best

• Contemporary and minimal interiors where a floral sconce would look out of place.
• Narrow hallways. At only 3.1 inches deep it stays well clear of passing traffic.
• Above a console, desk or headboard.
• Restaurants, hotels and offices. Matched sets are manufactured to order.

Wall colour matters here

This design works by silhouette, so it needs contrast behind it. Against a pale wall the arc and the hanging spheres read as a clean black line. Against a dark or heavily textured wall the shape disappears and only the candles remain visible. If your wall is dark, we can supply this piece in antique bronze or pale silver instead.
