Imperial Vine Gold Wall Light

A slim vine of leaves running down the wall below a round backplate, with two candle arms sweeping up from behind it. Finished in aged antique gold, it measures 46 cm tall and just 26 cm wide, so it suits narrow walls where a spreading sconce would not sit properly.

The vine hangs, it does not climb

The usual way to build a vine sconce is upward, with the foliage growing above the lights. This one runs the other way: the stem drops below the backplate and the leaves hang off it, finishing in a small ball at the bottom. That downward line draws the eye along the wall rather than up towards the ceiling, which is why it works well in stairwells and beside doorways where a rising design would fight the architecture.

Where this sconce works best

• Narrow walls and piers. At 26 cm wide it fits where wider sconces will not.
• Stairwells. The downward vine follows the line of a staircase.
• Either side of a doorway or an arch, as a mirrored pair.
• Hotel corridors and guest rooms. Matched sets are manufactured to order.

The finish up close

The antique gold on this piece is aged rather than bright, with darker mottling worked through it so the leaves show their veining. It is applied by hand, which means the balance between gold and shadow varies slightly from piece to piece. Ordering a pair? We finish them together so they match on the wall.

Made to order in Saharanpur

Handcrafted in our own workshop. Size, leaf count, arm count and finish can all be changed, and mirrored pairs are made on request. Bulk and project orders are quoted factory-direct. We ship across India and worldwide.

Care

Dust the leaves and stem with a soft brush. Avoid chemical polish, which will brighten the aged gold and remove the mottling that gives it depth.
