French Regency Style Wrought Iron Chandelier

Graceful curves and intricate scrollwork define this French Regency-style chandelier, with arms rising in tiers to carry candlestick fixtures above a pale silver frame. It is a substantial piece with genuine period character, made for a tall entrance hall or a staircase where it can be seen from more than one level.

Why the tiers matter

A tiered chandelier is designed to be read from below and from the side at once, which is why this form belongs in stairwells and double-height halls. The upper arms are set shorter and tighter than the lower ones so the silhouette narrows as it rises, and the scrollwork between them is forged to fill the gap without closing it. Get that spacing wrong and the piece looks solid from underneath. Ours is set by eye, tier by tier, on every unit we make.

Planning for a stairwell

In a stairwell, hang the chandelier so the lowest point clears the highest stair tread by at least 2.1 m, and centre it in the void rather than over the steps. Send us the floor-to-ceiling height of the void and we will recommend the right size and chain drop.
