Enchanted Forest triple arm wall light

Three candle arms rise out of a dense tangle of forged leaves and vines on this wall light, finished in a green and gold patina. At 24 inches tall and 22 inches wide it is one of the largest sconces in this collection, and the three-light layout makes it bright enough to carry a room on its own.

Three lights instead of two

Most wall sconces run to one or two lights, which limits them to accent lighting. A third arm changes what the piece can do: it spreads light further across the wall and throws enough into the room to work as real lighting rather than decoration. The centre arm sits higher than the outer two here, so the light falls at three different heights and the foliage between them is lit from within rather than flatly from the front.

Planning the wall

This is a large sconce, so give it room. Mount the centre 165 to 175 cm from the floor for general lighting, and keep at least 15 cm clear on either side of the foliage. Do not place it where a door swing or a tall piece of furniture will crowd the leaves, as the outline is what carries the design.

Care

Dust with a soft brush, working downward through the vines. Avoid chemical polish, which will strip the green from the patina and leave the foliage uniformly gold.
