Elegant French Wrought Iron Chandelier

Gracefully curved iron arms and a dark antique bronze patina define this 1940s-style French chandelier. The metalwork is fine rather than heavy, with scrollwork and forged foliage running between the arms, and it catches warm bulb light particularly well. It sits comfortably in contemporary rooms as well as traditional ones.

Why patina beats paint

A painted finish sits on top of the iron as an even film. A patina is worked into the surface, so the colour varies with the shape underneath: darker where the metal is recessed, lighter where the forge left it proud. That is why this chandelier changes appearance through the day and why bulb light picks out the curves instead of flattening them. Ours is built up in layers and hand-rubbed on every piece, which is also why two units are never quite identical.

Choosing a bulb

This design was drawn around candle-style bulbs. A warm white bulb at 2700K to 3000K keeps the patina looking rich. Cool white light turns antique bronze grey and flattens the forged detail, so it is worth avoiding on a piece like this.

Made to order in Saharanpur

Handcrafted in our own workshop. Diameter, arm count, chain drop and finish can all be changed, with alternatives in matte black, verdigris and pale silver. Bulk and project orders are quoted factory-direct. We ship across India and worldwide.
